As September comes to a close, we're gearing up for an action-packed October filled with fantastic events and volunteer opportunities for our dedicated parents and guardians. Here's a sneak peek at what's coming your way:
This Week - September 27th: September Teacher Appreciation Event After the immense success of last month's surprise event, our teachers are in for another delightful surprise this Wednesday, September 27th! We're transforming the break room into an "Open Vending Machine" filled with their favorite snacks and drinks, as per the surveys they filled out over the summer. We're sure they'll be thrilled!

Storybook Pumpkins and Scarecrow Strolls Flyers have been sent out for the Storybook Pumpkins and Scarecrow Strolls. We can't wait to see your creative entries! Last year, our students truly outdid themselves, and this year, we're aiming for even more spectacular displays. Plus, don't forget, there are prizes for the students this year! Let your imagination run wild and join in the fun.
October PODS Meeting - October 2nd (Monday) Join us on October 2nd for our monthly PODS meeting. We'll delve into all the exciting plans for October and go over the intricate details of our upcoming fall event. Your input and participation are invaluable!
Dolphin Dance - October 5th Our Dolphin Dance is set for October 5th! Ensure you send in your student's permission slip along with payment if they plan to attend. We need volunteers to make this event memorable for our students.

Pinestraw Distribution - October 10th & 11th We're in need of volunteers to help distribute pinestraw to scarecrow registrants in the pick-up lines on October 10th and 11th. Your assistance is vital to ensure a smooth process and guarantee that everyone receives their pinestraw. Volunteer Opportunity: October PBIS Table Our PBIS program allows students to cash in their hard-earned DOJO points during lunch. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to enjoy the rewards of their positive behavior, and we're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to guide them through this process and ensure they make the best choices when selecting rewards and trinkets.
Vocabulary Parade - October 12th Don't miss our Vocabulary Parade on October 12th at 9 am! Come see our students dressed in their finest costumes while they teach us new words. It's a fun and educational event for all.
AR Donut Party - October 13th Calling all volunteers for the AR Donut Party on October 13th! Let's reward our hardworking students for meeting their reading goals. Book Fair Volunteers - October 16th - 20th

Fallin Into Fun at Crooked River - October 19th
Last but certainly not least, our big fall event, "Fallin Into Fun at Crooked River," is just around the corner on October 19th! We're in need of volunteers to help set up carnival games, displays, decorations, and more. This setup will take place during the school day, as the event happens in the evening. ***Note for Volunteers: If you haven't completed the required volunteer training and wish to volunteer at any of the listed events, please reach out to PODS or the guidance counselor, Ellen Graw, to arrange a training session. Training can also be arranged after the PODS meeting on October 2nd for those who missed it in August.
