Shoe Drive
Crooked River Elementary is excited to announce the triumphant conclusion of our 2023 Shoe Drive. Running from the beginning of the school year through September 29, this community-driven effort has yielded outstanding results. Together, we collected an impressive total of 650 pairs of shoes, making a substantial impact on our mission to support positive behavior through the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program. This remarkable achievement was made possible by the unwavering dedication and generosity of our students, parents, and staff. The funds generated from the Shoe Drive will be channeled exclusively into further enhancing our PBIS initiatives, ensuring that our students continue to thrive in an environment that values respect, responsibility, and safety. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed, making this initiative a resounding success and reinforcing our commitment to a brighter future for our Crooked River community.
Festive Fridays
Once a month, PODS holds "Festive Fridays" where students can pay $1 to participate in the themed activity, whether it be Hat Day, Pinch Protection, or Mustache Madness; students are sure to have fun breaking dress code or wearing the fun themed trinket for the day!

Crooked River Cookbook
Our school is rich with culture thanks to the many military families we have. PODS is creating a cookbook to celebrate all of our favorite recipes that help make our school one of a kind. We encourage families to submit pictures, tips, and favorite recipes to truly make this book special. PODS will be hosting a contest for the cover art- one special student will have the honor of having their artwork printed on this year's copy and win a $25 gift card!
Recipes are due by September 8, 2023. Presales for cookbook orders are ongoing- purchase yours today for $15!
Recipe cards can be found at the bottom of the page. Please send in with your student to have your recipe included in the book.
Send a Candy Gram- They won't forget it!
PODS offers two different opportunities for loved ones to send grams to them throughout the school year. Birthday grams are on sale all year; students receive a goodie bag full of birthday pencils, bookmarks, trinkets, candy, and a special ribbon to wear for the day. Parents can purchase this for $5.
During the month of February, Candy Grams will go on sale for $2. Order forms will be sent home with students- it's fun to send to friends and teachers too!
Coin Wars
Last year, Crooked River students participated in a school-wide Coin War battle between all grade levels. Pennies were positive and silver coins were negative. It was an all-out battle royale between the grades, with Third Grade coming out victorious and winning a much-deserved pizza party.
The students had such a blast participating in this fundraiser, that we have made this an annual event. It worked on their counting, strategy skills, and we're even including the students on counting the coins this upcoming year to help improve on coin recognition! So start saving your pennies, folks! Coin War 2024 is March 11 - 15, 2024.
Upcoming Community Events
We have several very exciting community events planned this year! These will not only raise funds and benefit our school, but will also give opportunities for the community to come to Crooked River and experience some of the fun events we have on the campus.

Fallin Into Fun at Crooked River
- October 19, 2023. Come to Crooked River after hours for a fun scavenger hunt, a stroll through the book character pumpkin patch, and stop by the Book Fair.

Candy Cane Gift Wrap Workshop
- December 12- 14, 2023. From 5-7 pm, PODS will be hosting a "wrap" event. Just bring the gifts and let the elves do the wrapping for you! Enjoy some holiday baked goods for sale, a holiday movie or two, while you kick back and relax and let the elves do the wrapping this year. No set price, donations only.
Spring Fling
- March 28, 2024, from 5-8 pm. Come enjoy carnival games, an egg hunt at "The River", inflatables, food trucks, and more at our fun Spring Fling that kicks off Spring Break.
